At Social Harvest, collaboration lies at the heart of everything we do, especially when it comes to building a healthier, more sustainable future. This season, we are proud to announce a meaningful new partnership with Foret Capital Forest (FCF), an organization that specializing in sustainable tree planting and reforestation initiatives.

So, what makes this partnership so exciting? It’s all about the soil.
More specifically, worm castings.
What Are Worm Castings?
Worm castings, also known as ''vermicompost'', are a nutrient-rich organic fertiliser produced by worms. As they digest organic matter, worms leave behind castings that are packed with beneficial microbes, minerals and natural growth hormones. These castings improve soil structure, increase water retention and slowly release nutrients, making them one of the most effective and environmentally friendly soil amendments available.

Why Worm Castings for Trees?
FCF plants trees not just to restore forest ecosystems, but to help fight climate change through carbon sequestration. Healthy, fast-growing trees play a key role in that process. By incorporating worm castings from Social Harvest into their planting projects, FCF is taking a regenerative step forward.
Research shows that worm castings can:
• Stimulate root development, giving young trees a stronger start
• Boost microbial activity, enriching the soil ecosystem
• Improve nutrient uptake, making trees grow faster and healthier
• Reduce the need for chemical fertilizers, aligning with sustainable land management goals.
A Circular, Regenerative Partnership
This collaboration is a perfect example of a circular economy in action. Social Harvest diverts organic waste from landfills and transforms it into high-quality vermicompost through our community-based composting and farming systems. FCF, in turn, uses these castings to support forest health and biodiversity across their planting sites.
It’s a win-win for people and the planet.
Looking Ahead
At Social Harvest, we’re not just growing greens we’re growing impact. Supplying worm castings for reforestation is another step in our mission to close the loop, support ecosystems, and build a greener, more circular future.
