Social Harvest allowed me to improve a plethora of professional skills, including urban agriculture, greenhouse maintenance, community engagement, customer service, and entrepreneurship. As a result of this experience, I’ve become a more confident and competitive professional in horticulture. I was also fortunate to be in an environment connected with many different fields. Our contact with colleagues at the Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre, as well as the business development aspect of the social enterprise, brought new thought patterns to my attention.
I will always be grateful and appreciative of the support and guidance I received from my supervisor and co-workers. It was an honour to be part of a project that has such a beautiful mission supporting other social service activities. Now, I am excited to pursue my career as a Horticulture Technician with a local company.
